Andreea Banica started her career when she was a little girl actively participating in song contests around Romania. Andreea was noticed when taking place at the Mamaia Festival in 1998. After that she formed a band alongside Claudia Patrascanu and Iulia Chelaru. They named the band “Exotic”. Their shot at fame came with the song “Sexy”. Throughout their career together they releases two albums - “Sexy” and “Pasional”.
In 2000 Andreea Banica and her friend Cristina Rus formed a duo named “Blondy”. Before splitting they released three albums “Atat de aproape”, “O parte din tine” and “Dulce si amar”. Her partner Cristina Rus left the duo in 2004 to persue a solo career. Andreea continued using the duo’s name “Blondy”. After Andreea received the award for Best Romanian act from MTV’s 2007 EMA awards she decided to continue her career by using her real name “Andreea Banica”.
Andreea took a short break from her career when she gave birth to a baby in 2009. Her big success as a solo artist came with the release of her single “Samba”. She’s been widely known in Eastern Europe.
