ANEELA is a danish bhangra singer born at Frederiksvaerk. Her mother was pakistani and her father born in India. at the age of 15, she played for the first time in a movie. |Aneela was born in Denmark in a small town called Frederiksvaerk. Having a half-persian half-pakistani mother, and a dad born in India. She considers herself a melting pot. She grew up with asian folk music as a natural part of her upbringing. Her first musical encounter was when her parents sent her to a musical kindergarden. She soon knew she had discovered her true element. Her keen interest led her to join both the school and college band. And made her realize that she loved performing and being on stage. At the stage of 15 she was offered her first leading role in a movie, by the pakistani hit-producer Mohammad Jawed Fazil. Being to young, her mother did not allow her to pursue it, but the experience made the young girl even more determined to follow her dreams. After completing her GSEĀ“s Aneela went to UK to do her a-levels from st: Lawrence College. It was during her stay there that she discovered an entire new musical mileau. The urban ethnic scene in UK really inspired her, and being in that environment rooted the urge to exoress herself through the different musical influences and ethnic inspirations that was a part of her persona. During that period Aneela took a break from events and went to Pakistan for 6 months. Being blessed with a fantastic family of great poets. Aneela started developing an interest for “urdu Adab”. She found herself mezmerized by the beauty of the Urdu language and the depth of the spiritualism and irony in poetry by famous poets like Iqbal, Mirza Ghalib and Faiz. During that period Aneela took a break from events and went to Pakistan for 6 months. Being blessed with a fantastic family of great poets, Aneela started developing an interest for “Urdu Adab”. She found herself mezmerized by the beauty of the Urdu language and the depth of the spiritualism and irony in poetry by famous poets like Iqbal, Mirza, Ghalib and Faiz.
