People might mispronounce her name, but one thing that certainly cannot be mistaken is her incredible talent. ANNELIESE VAN DER POL is a prime example of old Hollywood; unmistakeable raw talent that ranges from sharp acting skills to a strong powerhouse voice along with true classic looks. By the very young age of 23, Anneliese has appeared on a hugely successful Emmy-nominated, Disney Channel Original Series, and has not only starred in, but closed one of Broadway’s longest running musicals, and she certainly has no intention on slowing down.
By 15, The Los Angeles Times deemed Anneliese van der Pol to have the world at her feet as she finished her well-received portrayal of Eva Perón in “Evita.” Van der Pol reserved herself a spot in the record books as being the youngest actress in U.S. History to play the role in a professional production of the Tony Award winning musical. In 2007, Anneliese made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning “Beauty & the Beast” as Belle. This iconic and career-making role has van der Pol gracing the record books once again as being the final actress to portray Belle in Disney Theatrical’s “Beauty & the Beast” on Broadway. In 2009, Anneliese made her highly-anticipated return to the stage in 2009’s Off-Broadway Musical, “VANITIES: A New Musical”, as Kathy. Based on the smash hit play that ran for 5 years, “VANITIES” is a funny and poignant look at three women who discover that, even in 30 years of rapidly changing times, the one thing they can rely on is each other. Anneliese is definately no stranger to the stage, with other Theatre credits including: “Beguiled Again”, “Grease”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Murphy’s Law”, and more.
Through all this work, don’t think Anneliese has gone home empty handed, Anneliese has received both a B. Iden Payne Nomination and an Austin Critics Table Nomination for her portrayal of Laurey in the Austin Musical Theatre production of “Oklahoma!” In 1999, she won a Bobbi award for playing Sandy in the Huntington Playhouse’s production of “Grease.”
Van der Pol is most popularly known as being part of Disney Channel’s most successful original series, “That’s So Raven.” Anneliese played the ditzy Chelsea Daniels, best friend to title character Raven Baxter. To date, “That’s So Raven” remains to be Disney’s most successful show surpassing the 100th episode mark. This role gained Anneliese a Young Artist Award for “Outstanding Young Performers in a TV Series.” Anneliese has also guest starred on the Emmy-nominated Disney Channel Original Series, “Kim Possible.” Having already stepped foot onto theatre and television, Anneliese also has a career in film. The actress has starred in “Divorce: The Musical”, and “Bratz: The Movie” which was one of 2005’s most anticipated films of the Summer.
Truly talented, Anneliese also has quite a promising singing career. The first time she stepped into a recording studio, was along side Desi Arnaz Jr. when they recorded a duet-version of “Winter Wonderland”, for the “Children of Christmas” CD by the All-Star Kids Chorus… Her first solo recording was “Open My Heart” in 2002 for “Divorce: The Musical.” Anneliese has been featured on many soundtracks for the Disney Channel. She also sang the chorus on the “That’s So Raven” theme song. In 2004, Anneliese hit the recording studio to record the main track for the Disney Channel Original Movie, “Stuck in the Suburbs” and soundtrack titled “Over It.” To date, “Over It” has been featured in several Disney/Walt Disney Records’ soundtracks and releases. Composed and produced by Adam Watts and Andy Dodd, the track went on to have quite a success; it jumped onto the charts at #13 on the Radio Disney Top 30, #18 on the Philippines Top 20, and #2 on the Top 100 Kids Singles. “Over It” remains to be one of Disney’s most recognizable tracks and to date continues to be requested on Radio Disney. Van der Pol is also featured on the “That’s So Raven Too!” Soundtrack, adding her vocals to a total of 3 tracks. “A Day in the Sun” went on to be TSRT!’s second single. Van der Pol was part of the original line-up of the Disney Channel of Stars, going on to record both “The Circle of Life” and “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” along with other Disney Stars. Anneliese has also been hard at work on her own highly-anticipated debut CD, having worked with many producers for her first demo. Most noteably, she worked with veteran music producer/composer Bob Esty who has produced, written and arranged numerous hit songs for Barbra Streisand and Cher.
