Austin Newcomers are a French-Canadian indie rock band headed by Jan and Ilia Cobb.|Canadian brothers installed in France, Jan and Ilia Cobb digested their US folk-rock and electro french touch influences to approach a new era. Their current sound has more in common with indie-rock bands such as The Strokes and The Libertines.|Proud of its ecstatic guitars, of its consistent bass, its controlled harmonies, its percussive drums, this new gang of five lets forecast the best things to come.|Founded in 2000, the band includes Jan Cobb, Ilia Cobb, Boris Magnin, Christian “Lemmy” and Cédric “Bitchon” Desmazières.|They have released two full-length albums and two EPs.|A new album was released on july 2006 called Grand opening.
