Bernd Clüver (born April 10, 1948 in Hildesheim) is a german pop/schlager singer. In his long career, he has numerous awards and had a variety of high charting singles. In particular, he won Goldene Stimmgabel (English: ‘Golden Tuning Fork’) awards in 1981, 1985, 1991 1981, 1985, and 1991. Some of his best known songs are “The Man With The Harmonica”, “The Little Prince”, “The Gate to the Garden of Dreams”— all of which earned him Lion awards from Radio Luxembourg.
He also broke long standing taboos by singing one of the first commercial songs about homosexuality, “Mike und sein Freund” (English: “Mike and his Friend”), in October 1976. It was a cover version of “Under One Roof” by the British group The Rubettes.
Aside from singing, he has also worked as a host for the Südwestrundfunk media network. Bernd currently lives with his second wife, Anja Hörnich.
