The name came from a german trademark of drawing material, being of great influence in the life of the band members. In 2007, they released their debut album, Big Deal, by the label Monstro Discos. After the album release, the band toured Brazil. In the same year, they opened to Nashville Pussy, their idols, and became a frequent tradition. The band already played side-by-side with bands like The Datsuns, Motörhead and Eagles of Death Metal. In 2009, Black Drawing Chalks release their second album, Life Is A Big Holiday For Us, again with the Monstro Discos label, after a tour on Canada, where they played on Canadian Music Week. With frequent media exposition, long tours and playing on big brazilians festivals, the band got three VMB09(Video Music Brazil 2009) indications, on the categories Aposta MTV( MTV Prospect), Rock Alternativo(Alternative Rock) and Videoclipe do Ano (Best Music Video), with the music My Favorite Way.
