There are three performers by this name: 1. Robert Beresford “Bobby” Brown (born 5th February 1969) is an American Grammy-winning R&B singer and dancer. Brown began his career with the boy band New Edition in 1980, but was later ousted from the group because of behavioral problems. He embarked on a solo career in the late 1980s, and had a string of Top-10 Billboard hits. Brown was the husband of R&B singer Whitney Houston, and was the star of his own reality show, Being Bobby Brown. 2. The Californian Bobby Brown best known for releasing the psychedelic album The Enlightening Beam of Axonda in 1972. He gained a reputation for his self-built percussion set, with which (together with hundreds of other self-built instruments) he created a kind of one-man orchestra to accompany his own singing. He released another two albums, including a live album recorded in the early 1980’s. 3. Bobby Brown was a New-York-based jazz alto saxophonist who, apart from leading his own quartet in the 1970s, was a long-time member of Willie Bobo’s band.
