Cactus’s were an intense 3 piece group with the self proclaimed style of tropical thrash rock. Drummer (Jru Frazier) had been from a screamo/grindcore band in Korea and met guitarist (Asher Rogers) when he moved to the states. After months of no luck finding a bassist, they convinced Asher’s brother (Sam Rogers) to learn to play. With influences ranging from XTC and The Pixies to Converge, Cactus’s offer a high energy and lyrically bizarre brand of music that can apply to the musically inclined as well as the musically inept. The band split in 2010, shortly after the release of their first and only LP, entitled “New Bones”. |
