Starting his career in 1999, Daigo fronted the glam rock group Jzeil. After they disbanded in 2001, DAIGO began his solo career, first as DAIGO and then taking DAIGO☆STARDUST as his stage name. He released three indies singles before being signed to a major label in 2003. His major label debut single “Maria” was composed by Kyosuke Himuro, the one time frontman of the legendary Japanese rock band BOØWY. (“Maria” shares its composition with Himuro’s single “Claudia” which was released simultaneously.) He has since released five singles and two albums. Highly influenced by all the glam rock and 70’s groups, his music is a mix of rock, pop and glam that you will love if you love David Bowie, The Venus in Furs or similar groups. As of June 4, 2007, DAIGO will no longer be performing as DAIGO☆STARDUST. He is now frontman for BREAKERZ. |
