Damian is now 19 years old and has already been singing professionally for 4 years now. He has been performing for over a decade now and won his first music competition by the time he turned six. Damian is sports mad and when he is not singing he loves playing football and attending sporting events. After winning a singing competition in 2006, Damian’s public profile was significantly boosted and he made appearances at various concerts including the Millennium Forum for Derry City football team. Damian first came to the attention of the Producer Sharon Browne and Music Director Phil Coulter at the tender age of 14, when a CD he recorded for Charity was passed along to them. He was invited to come along to audition for the show and was immediately cast in the role of the “teenager” or “boy wonder” in CELTIC THUNDER. Damian’s excitement and enthusiasm for Celtic Thunder is infectious, and after seeing him perform there was no way he would not be part of the show. Almost 4 years on Damian has developed and grown both in and out of Celtic Thunder, he is more than a foot taller than he was when it started. He often draws the biggest reaction from the crowd and throngs of Celtic Thunder fans have lined up for the pure-voiced Damian’s autographs and t-shirts. “The fans are crazy,” laughs Damian. “I don’t know why they’re walking around with my ugly mug on their stomach, but it’s great to have fans that really love what you do.” Damian has been recently selected as one of the top 12 finalists out of a 40,000 Myspace Audition Search, who competed for a coveted spot on “The Glee Project”. Be sure to watch each Sunday Night June 12, 2011 at 9PM EDT, for the next 12 Weeks as 1 Finalist will be cast in a seven-episode guest role in season three of hit show “Glee” on Fox. | |
