A three-piece group from Japan, day after tomorrow consists of a female vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist, with the latter two taking charge of the songwriting. The vocalist, misono, is actually the sister of 倖田來未 (Koda Kumi).
Having formed in the early months in 2002, and with their first single in August of that year, the band has been producing songs extremely fast. They have had one live tour under their belt already, as well as two mini-albums, two full albums, and nine singles, all within three years’ time.
The group was one of the winners of the Japan Gold Disc New Artist of the Year Award proving that the they are definitely one to watch for. The band has uplifting songs as well as strong ballads, and having a keyboardist instead of a bassist or drummer, as is typical in other groups, also helps give the group a unique sound.
The band announced that they would officially disband after releasing a Best album in Summer 2005. misono will go on with a solo career while Masato and Daisuke will continue writing and composing songs for other artists.
Their song Starry Heavens featured as the theme to Minami-Ke Okawari
