Die Perlen albums
“die perlen” were founded in spring 2000. The early songs were arranged with the old Atari that is still used on stage today. Some of the tracks were quite succesful at mp3-websites, and so “die perlen” produced within the following years 4 Demo-CDRs which they sold at their homepage. Gradually they became more popular and in the year 2004 they didn’t want to produce CDRs any longer, so they decided to make a “real” CD. 6 tracks were on the EP “gedankenzüge”, p.e. “bahnsteig 19” which has won the “project 19” competition of the bavarian radio broadcast “zündfunk”.
The press reviews of “gedankenzüge” were without exception very good. As a consequence “die perlen” appeared regularly on compilations together with bands like “Mia”, “Klee”, “Spillsbury” or “Stereo Total” to mention just a few. The success of the EP gave the band the chance to play live together with different bands like “Klee”, “Schwefel”, “Nachlader” or “Homo Futura” (a “Welle Erdball”-side-project).
As the band has been working with a variety of different artists so far, you might ask yourself: How would “die perlen” describe their music? The answer was given with the title of their first album called “telektroponk!” which was released in june 2006. The mixture between Electroclash, Pop, Punk-Rock and Techno convinced both journalists and the audience at the gigs and so “telektroponk!” is the best word to describe the bands musical ideology.
