Disconcerts formed in May 2007, but without this prior knowledge you could be easily deceived that they are from an era 30 years earlier where post-punk reigned the alternative scene. Rick Trust lays the quick beats whilst Alan Pilkington produces heavy basslines. With no fear of sharp objects, Hugo Hamper-Potts cuts into the songs with discorded riffs and vocal one-liners, which will make it difficult to refrain from addiction. Directing big nods towards bands such as Fire Engines, Gang of Four, Wire and Bowie’s Berlin albums, Disconcerts are more than ready to step things up for the new year.
