1) Dominatrix is an underground feminist band from São Paulo - SP (Brazil)|They have been on the road for 10 years now, and the members are as follow: Elisa (lead guitar/vocal)|Adriessa (bass)|Josie (guitar)|Debora (drums) Ex-members:|Isabella: bass/vocals on the early years of the band, and songs like flat earth and no make up tips.|The name of the band comes from a Bratmobile song, called Panik. |2) Dominatrix were a post-punk/electro duo from NYC consisting of Stuart Argabright and Dominique Davalos. Originally part of the scene that gravitated to Mudd Club and Tier 3 in New York, |Dominatrix were influenced by early Hip-Hop, techno pop and electro.|They played at clubs of that moment such as Studio 54, Paradise Garage, The Copa, Limelight and The FunHouse.|Their work can be heard on their classic club single “The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight” from 1984, and the more recent Soul Jazz Records compilation “New York Noise:” (Volume 3) that was produced by Stuart Argabright of Dominatrix.|Sampled by everyone from Carl Cox, DJ Hell, Junior Cartier and Puff Daddy.|First new tracks in 25 years to be released March 17 on Stuart’s new label REC through iTunes. |
