Edyta Geppert (born 27.11.1953 in Nowa Ruda) - one of the most ambitious polish singers. Before receiving education in the Song Faculty in F. Chopin National Music High School in Warsaw she performed in the “song&dance group Nowa Ruda”. Before singing in the group and in the school concerts - as the artist recalls herself - she sang since she can remember. She comes from a very musical family - her mother was Hungarian, that’s why the artist is very familiar with the hungarians czardas. Currently - since 1985 - wife of Piotr (Peter) Lorentz.
Edyta Geppert showed herself to the public in 1984 when she won the I prize on the VII Actor Song Review in Wrocław and the Grand Prix of the XXI National Polish Song Festival in Opole. She repeated the successes in Opole again in 1986 and 1995. She is the only polish singer, which received the GRAND PRIX for three times (1984 - “Jaka róza, taki cierń”, 1986 - “Och, zycie kocham cię nad zycie”, 1995 - “Idź swoją drogą”) |
