Washington, D.C.-based hip-hop duo Fly Gypsy, formed by a Russian-born producer and a Jamaican-born emcee, is quickly emerging as the hottest new name in hip-hop. Since its launch in June 2009, the group released the critically acclaimed Vodka & Rum Mixtape, saw its single “2 Step/Reasons” reach No. 2 and No. 5 positions on online charts, and shot a video in Jamaica with award winning director Ras Kassa (Sean Paul, Willie Nelson, Damian Marley). The video has been accepted by MTVu for its Freshmen slot and by VH1 Soul and will premiere shortly. Fly Gypsy’s first album, Change for a Dollar, will be released on December 1, 2009. |
