Conceived as a sort of situationist prank by a group of Norfolk-based misfits, Fuck Dress have accidentally become a little bit popular. The debut Suburban Nietzsche Freak single (and its crazed companion promo video) was acclaimed as the hit of the summer in Spain and Italy. The song’s sledgehammer refrain of “God is dead so I listen to Radiohead” was to be heard wafting out of radios across the continent. This unexpected success was swiftly followed by a Spanish tour in November 2008. The next single - the Ultra Now EP - takes German philosopher Goethe as its inspiration. In 1824 he complained about the speed of the ‘modern’ world coining the phrase “Everything’s Now Ultra”. We turned it into a song. |
