1) Spanish pop singer who represented Andorra at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.|2) Swedish musician. 1) Gisela Lladó Canovas (born 1st January 1979, Barcelona, Spain) is a pop star from Spain. She found fame as a contestant on a musical reality show called Operacion Triunfo in 2001. In 2008 Gisela represented Andorra at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Casanova. Unfortunately it failed to qualify for the finals after finishing 16th in the semi-finals. Soon after appearing on Operacion Triunfo in 2001, Gisela released her debut album Parte De Mí, which sold 200,000 copies in its first few weeks. Her second album, Más Allá, was released in 2003 and included 5 hit singles. Also in 2003 her version of Irene Cara’s What a feeling was featured in an advert on British Television. Ni Te Lo Imaginas, came out in 2006, under a new record label (Filmax, rather than Vale Music). There were four singles off the album, the first and the third becoming Gisela’s most successful so far in her career. The first was Turu turu, a pop ballad reaching Number 1 in Spain on its second week. Amid the success of Turu-Turu, the second single Mágica La Notte managed to climb up to 62 on the Spanish iTunes chart. This resulted in Filmax releasing a Special Edition version of the album, including two new songs, the first called Mi Mundo Eres Tú and the second, Viviré En Tus Sueños. “Viviré en tus sueños”, which was the theme song to the movie Perón, reached #7 in the Spanish iTunes chart. The fourth single Mi Mundo Eres Tú was a radio only single. It even managed to climb into the United Kingdom’s iTunes pop chart at the end of 2007 after being used on the programme Strictly Come Dancing. Gisela has dubbed the original soundtracks of the Disney movies Peter Pan (2002), Beauty and the Beast (2003) and Enchanted (2007) in Castilian Spanish. 2) Gisela lives in Malmö, Sweden.
