It was a song that he wrote himself. The song became the summerhit of that year and was in the Dutch charts for 37 weeks! Whereas everyone thought they’d be a one-hit wonder, their debut album “Verbazing” (Amazement) enters the charts on number 1. Their second album “Schilderij” (Painting) gets a gold state in 1998 and they release their third album “1 voor allen” (1 for all) in 2001. In 2002 he goes further without his group and releases an untitled album. In 2004 he releases an compilation album, with his greatest hits, arranged by Guus Meeuwis himself. In 2005 he receives a platina state for this album. He gives three concerts to celebrate the anniversary of his musical career and all three of them are completely sold out. After these concerts he starts working on a new album and in 2005 “Wijzer” (Wiser) is released. It takes him only three weeks before this album too gets to the gold state.
