The Hifi Heroes are Kevin Dodwell and Andy Perring. Together they bring the old with the new, the dark that follows the light and real meaning to real songs. The concept and idea of the HFH was to merge a sound which both fed and inspired the two of them through their formative years with song content and subject matter that explores the fragility of life’s uncertain path. The mistakes we make, the guilt we feel together with the hope that so often follows. These are songs not for the faint hearted; they are songs for the fool-hearted! Having got together just over 12 months ago, the two have been busy writing and shaping the sound to over 25 songs ranging from the symphonic to the soulful. Currently in pre-production and mixing for the as yet untitled first album the band will tour early in 2007 to promote their work. Already planned are a series of secret live shows to set off a wider promotional tour. Live, HFH have already been able to translate the “Studio” sound with that of a more “live” feel by introducing a drummer and guitarist to their already massive sound! Both Kev and Andy have achieved major success in their other projects/bands. Andy’s heralds from his deity-like status as “Pulser” and is known for writing and producing some of the biggest tracks of the Trance genre. In a 10 year career (so far) he has delivered over 100 commercial productions & remixes for his own projects (Pulser, Insigma, Olmec Heads, Ija and more…) with artists like Moby, Apollo 440, Matt Darey all getting the remix treatment. Andy is also a world renouned DJ playing regular dates around the globe, in the biggest clubs…“It’s a crazy job but I love it!!” says Andy. Meanwhile as one half of the pop duo The Flood, Kev has also enjoyed his fair share of notoriety with appearances on the legendary Top of the Pops, gracing various dance tracks with his unique vocals as well as arena tours including the NEC and the Royal Albert Hall. Commenting on the latest batch of HFH songs Kev says; “I’m not sure if the songs I write are commercial material or not….to tell you the truth I’m not sure I even care. I write this stuff because it matters to me…what’s important to me now… is being authentic to whom I am!” “You’ll probably hear our influences on the tracks themselves” … “they range from all the 80’s and 90’s electropop, indie and alternative music we grew up with, an era that truly inspires us in our work. To us it’s the depth and richness that electronic instruments can provide combined with deep, penetrating, dark songs …that’s what HiFi Heroes is all about!” HiFi Heroes are Andy Perring & Kev Dodwell. |
