Hello world, this is Hurry! Lets Go an electro, pop and acoustic band originally from Germany. The band was officially formed in early 2006, but has changed a lot throughout the years. H!LG (Hurry! Lets Go) was originally started by former band member Robbie and current member Alan in Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The two guys got together to share their love of music as a small hobby, but little did they know it would turn into something much greater. Inspired by bands like PlayRadioPlay! (now known as Analog Rebellion), Breathe Carolina, Linkin Park, Owl City, Blink-182, The Ready Set, Breathe Electric and The Postal Service, Alan and Robbie sat down one summer day and wrote their first hit single.“Happily Ever After” was compiled line-by-line starting by Alan writing one line then Robbie coming up with the next. Eventually the band had a full-length song written, and decided to compose a beat to match it. Most bands start off with a beat then develop lyrics, but not H!LG. They were ready to be truly different even in how they created music. The band’s “Happily Ever After” quickly became a top chart hit on MySpace after just a few hours of uploading it to the popular social network site. After successfully developing this first single, the band realized electronica and pop were the musical direction they wanted to pursue. |Musical History:|After writing six complete songs, the band released their first EP entitled “This May Be Our Scene.” The EP quickly gained popularity across the board, from the charts on MySpace to receiving approval by Apple to sell their songs on iTunes. After the release of their first EP, the band also recorded a few singles featuring the bands Dropping A Popped Locket, Dot Dot Curve, She’s Dressed To Kill and N!TRO among a few others. The success of their first EP and the popularity they had developed on MySpace inspired the band to create its first full-length album, “As Silhouettes Fade.” The countless hours the band spent brainstorming lyrics, practicing beats and recording finally paid off. The album was well received by fans and the MySpace community. By far the greatest and most popular songs on were “Mayday Mayday” and “Neon Lights.” “Mayday Mayday” also sparked the interest of Spanky (from Dot Dot Curve) who e-mailed Alan and asked if H!LG wanted to create a remix of this song for his album “Till The Wheels Fall Off.” Alan decided to name the song “Screaming Mayday” and it quickly became one of the most, if not the most, popular song from Hurry! Lets Go and Dot Dot Curve’s new album. “As Silhouettes Fade” established H!LG as a well-known on MySpace, and even music labels were offering to sign the band. Although this seemed like a great opportunity, the timing was not right. Alan was attending Florida State University full-time and Robbie started his first year at the University of Alabama. Due to their hectic schedules the band took a break from creating songs, but this eventually led to them splitting. Robbie was too busy with school so Alan went on to stay in Hurry! Lets Go as a solo-project. At this time Alan also decided to experiment with new music and formed “Neon Attack!” a side-project with Chris from the popular acoustic/pop band “A Sunset Diary.” Together Alan and Chris released their highly-popular EP “Skylit Horizons.” The EP did well and inspired Alan to continue to create music. Alan then decided to refocus on H!LG. Soon after, the band was asked by the popular social music platform trueAnthem to enter the Wonka Battle of the Bands. After a tough and close competition, H!LG placed third, losing to the popular crunkcore/rap/electronic band BrokenCYDE. In late 2008 Alan had met two up and coming artists from Germany, Peter and Kevin from XOXO. XOXO was the band featured in H!LG’s hit single “Neon Lights.” The band members noticed they had common musical goals and in late 2009 frontman Peter joined H!LG. Together Alan and Peter were ready to revitalize the H!LG. Peter is an amazing producer, singer, guitarist and pianist and Alan is an amazing online promoter and leader. They combined their talents to create “Winter Nights”, a Christmas song full of electronic and pop beats. In 2010 XOXO’s other member Kevin joined Hurry! Lets Go. And then a couple months later the band’s newest EP “Neon Lights” was released. The six-song EP amazed everyone who listened to it. It brought together techno, electro, pop, acoustic, and indie beats in a new and exciting way. |Where are they now?|Now days Peter and Kevin live in Trier, Germany where they are studying graphic design. Alan graduated college from FSU and now works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Despite the distance, the band continues to make music and is currently developing a new full-length album. The band members also have the opportunity to get together every summer and winter, and use this time to develop videos and new music. Peter’s other band, Erin, plays many shows across Europe, so H!LG is hoping to start touring soon too. Since the band considers Trier, Germany their hometown, the guys hope to play a show in this city in the near future. H!LG is happy to still be making music and wants to thank everyone who supported them from day one. “We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our family, friends and fans! Keep listening, we love you all,” H!LG. |
