Punk rock poli-sci-fi front man from the Dead Kennedys (Jello Biafra) collaborated with Mojo Nixon, psychobilly dementoid pundit in the mid-90’s. This was at a time when both of these noted songwriters were experiencing a bit of a lull in their recording careers. The resulting album, Prairie Home Invasion, became something of a high point for each of them- a sum that was more than its parts. Some cuts are ‘Mojo-fied’ covers of classic country radio hits, such as “Will the Feotus be Aborted” and “Plastic Jesus”. An amazingly fun record. |
