Joanna Stingray (née Joanna Fields) - an American singer who went to the Soviet Union in 80s and played a small but significant part in ripping down the Iron Curtain. She recorded a number of Soviet rock musicians when they were still forced to perform underground and got married with Yury Kasparyan, the guitarist with the famous Soviet band Кино. |By 1989 Stingray was living in Moscow and was occupied with her Russian careers as a singer (released 5 albums and a compilation in Russia) and a television personality with her own show “Red Wave Presents.” She also had a new partner, Alexander Vasilyev, then the drummer with Центр. Now she is living in Los Angeles. |
