Josel’s earliest music memories are in the shape of his mother’s Boney M tapes and local greek folklore music festivals. Starting from those two extremes, Josel went through numerous musical taste transformations. Growing up in a family where his older brother is a semi-professional singer and his younger brother a painter, it was no surprise that Josel chose music production and DJing as a way of expression. Starting mixing vinyl at the age of 15 and working for various bars and clubs in his home town provided him with a variety of musical input. His move to the UK to study in 1996, proved a defining moment.|Countless record shops of new and old releases, from every spectrum of music fed him for the next few years, until he found what satisfied his taste most of all: deep and progressive house. At that time he met his often musical partner, Pedro, who has been a source of inspiration and imaginative collaboration. At the moment, Josel is based in Manchester (UK) where he also runs a deep house night. He has produced more than 7 remixes for acts like C-Jay, Mick Wilson and Eelke Kleijn; more than 15 original releases; one album; appearances in 5 compilations, all together on more than 15 labels. And there is much more to come in the near future. |
