Kasia Stankiewicz is a Polish pop singer. She started her career in 1995 singing a song by Varius Manx, a multi-platinum Polish band, in the TV song contest Szansa na sukces (A Chance for Success). A few months later she actually became the lead vocalist for Varius Manx. In 1996 they recorded Ego – a 5 times platinum album. The hit singles “Orła cień”, “Ten sen” and “Mówią mi” were high in the Polish charts for months. In 1997 she recorded a platinum soundtrack for the Polish movie Nocne graffitti and her second album with Varius Manx entitled End. There were #1 singles off the album again (“Kiedy mnie malujesz”, “Najmniejsze państwo świata”, “Czy tak chcesz” “Próbujcie marzyć”) and it became platinum. In 1999 she recorded her first solo album, Kasia Stankiewicz, with soul and jazz compositions. In 2000 she recorded her last album with Varius Manx, Najlepsze z dobrych (The Best of the Good Ones), which included a few new songs, and after promoting two smash hit singles from the album (“Teraz i tu” and “Wolni w niewoli”) she decided to leave Varius Manx.
