Kastor’s previously so carefully hidden world of water lilies, pale pink flamingos and gentle tigers is finally opening to us all. The stories told on the debut album Lost Station create comforting states and frequencies with almost illegally beautiful The shade of Kastor’s music is deep, dark blue, but definitely not black. Like an embracing summer night, it brings hope and comfort through riddles and questions. Why do not our paths cross even if we try to keep the track of each other? Should we have done something differently in a particular moment, leave the train at the previous station? Is finding impossible and searching hopeless when the connection fails? Lost Station is simultaneously a concrete place and an abstract image. Formed in Helsinki in the year 2000, Kastor has done a thorough groundwork over the years by touring with top Finnish indie names, such as Underwater Sleeping Society and Magenta Skycode, not to mention Rubik, whose frontman Artturi Taira is also a member of Kastor. In the manner of two of the aforementioned, Kastor is a founding member of New Music Community, a collaboration of young musicians that has introduced the most interesting new pop bands to Finnish music scene within the past few years. Through active existence Kastor became a founding member of New Music Community, a Finnish music community that promotes independent artists. The appraised and acknowledged mini-album “Invisible Triumph” (NMC-007) was released in 2005 by Siamese Sounds, New Music Community’s record label. In November 2007 band was signed by Backstage Alliance, a strong new Finnish record company.
