For those who say hip-hop is dead it’s obvious that you don’t know Jack. With music that touches the soul and invigorates the spirit, this emcee grabs the attention of hip hop fans from all spectrums. Now imagine electronic, rock and pop inspired production juxtaposed with thought provoking lyricism and you start to experience the articulation of Jack’s musical vision. Just recently, the up and comer snagged the Grand Prize and Lennon Awards for Hip Hop from the John Lennon Songwriting contest, and was a finalist for the Maxwell Corporation’s ‘Song of the Year’ for his composition ‘Dreaming of Darfur’ . When asked about the slew of accolades Jack comments, ‘It feels good to be appreciated, but I am just trying to have a good time and make great music.’ This, however, is not Jack’s first major splash in his career. At only the age of 19, this emcee graced the world famous stage of Austin City Limits Music Festival (2005), was dubbed an Austin Music Foundation Incubator Award Winner (2005), and was featured on FOX News and a host of other media outlets. Having opened for artists ranging from Devin the Dude, Method Man, to the likes of the legendary Little Richard, Jack’s music proves he has the ability to captivate audiences from all demographics. Whether it is rocking the crowd with simply himself and a DJ, or bringing down the house with backing from his live band, this artist displays showmanship at its best. His latest live outing included a tour of Texas Tour with Roc Nation’s crown Prince J. Cole. Even with so much already underway, 2010 doesn’t look to be slowing down as Jack prepares his second EP Titled “Nebula”. As fans eagerly await Jack’s follow up effort, it looks as if 2010 could be a magical year for the budding artists’ career. |
