Krumb Snatcha|Demetrius Gibbs, Lawrence, MA Krumb Snatcha’s debut single “Closer to God,” produced by DJ Premier has sold over 15,000 units. This Boston bases artist has appeared on 2 tracks from the Funkdoobiest album, “Trouble Shooters”. He is also featured on the gold selling Source Magazine’s Hip Hop Quotable & Independents Day Column. He’s also big Guru’s friend. Krumb Snatcha also was on the track “Make em pay” of Gang Starr’s album “Moment of truth”. He has recently released a new three-track 12”. “Killer in Me” is the basic thug joint, nothing mind-boggling, but the production and Krumbs’ rugged flow carry the song. “Take the pain away” has him talking’ about domestic violence, while “Thug in your life” is aimed directly at the ladies. In XXL Vol. 3 no. 4 there is an article about Krumb Snatcha. He says “Before my label MIA picked me up, I had a lot of things I did in the past that caught up with me after I signed the contracts.” The article then states that he went to Walpole maximum security prison in Massachusetts for kidnapping and attempted murder charges. This is the only reason he did not go on the Smokin’ Grooves tour with Gang Starr last year. He is presently concentrating on his new album which will more than likely feature more production from Gang Starr. Krumb says: “My first CD wasn’t recorded to be an album, it was just different songs that I recorded, but now you’ll hear something totally different.” |
