In his senior year at the University of Miami, Prata won the Mr. University of Miami contest for his impassioned vocal ability. This win convinced him to pursue singing as a full time career. Moving back to his native New York after graduating with a double major, Prata recorded and released his own singles. Sony recording artist George Lamond took Prata under his creative wing and hired him to tour with him as his back up singer and dancer with his number one hit at the time “Bad of the Heart”. In the summer of 2000 Prata found himself teamed up with Salt-n-Pepa as the opening act for their North American tour. Thousands of fans in 80 cities caught Lucas’ electrifying three song performance which included his hit single at the time “Fly Away”. In his continued pursuit to further his career, Lucas found himself in the C&C Music Factory studios auditioning for a group. This is where he met Ricky Crespo, who at the time was the programmer/co-producer for C&C. Lucas and Ricky quickly became friends and began creating music that began turning heads at major labels. Within a span of a few short months, the dynamic duo have gotten three songs signed with fresh new ideas and lyrics. His current release “Lets Get It On” became the number one requested record in Miami’s Party 93.1 in just two weeks. |
