Composer Lydia Ashton started her musical journey in her homeland Sweden by taking violin and piano lessons. Her passion for music led her to move away from home at the age of 15 to attended a school preparing its students for a profession in music.| |After a short break from her studies Lydia moved to the US and in 2002 she graduated with a Bachelors in Music Composition Technology. Since then her music has touched audiences in several countries including Italy, England, Sweden, Slovenia, Norway and the USA.| |Lydia scored her first feature 2006 and fell in love with writing for picture. Since then her focus has turned from writing concert music to film scoring, even though she still does both.| |Her experience working with real orchestras is a great asset when she works on film scores whether the film calls for midi orchestration, real orchestra or a mix. “I compose custom music for films. There is significant value added to any project when each element - music, words, picture - is chosen deliberately and executed with care. I make sure that the director’s vision is realized”. |
