Madeixas was formed in 1996 at Blumenau-SC by the punk band Nocivos integrants Bruno Lobe (bass) and Jonathan Evaristo (drums). Some months later James Zoschke (vocals and guitar), Camila Zoschke (vocal) and João Pimentel (guitarra) joined the band. From the start one of their objectives was to play their own music. Several years passed by until their sound matured to its current form (due to both the youth of its members and the necessity of experimenting with different types of music). During these years they made several gigs at Brazil, were interviewed by “zines” and magazines, made videoclips and a performance on MTV. At 2000, after a period of reformulation, both musical and lyrical improvements, and with Paulo Jaeger (guitar) joining Madeixas, James was allowed to focus on singing. Their sound becomes denser, more cohesive and experimental with lyrics full of Irony, melancholy, romantic themes and lots of methaphors. At the end of 2002 Johnathan Evaristo leaves the band and Emanuel Pimentel assumes the drums. The current formation has Diogo Locatelli playing synth. |
