* Biography|Marjorie is the second of three siblings from the Estiano family. In high school, she signed the Tecnic Course Of Cenic Arts in Paraná. When she finished the course, she moved to São Paulo to improve her acting abilities. Then, she studied Music in college for two years, and Publicity, also in college, for one year. While studying, she made some TV commercials and played minor plays in theater. After this, she was aproved in the TV Globo Actor’s Workshop and moved to Rio de Janeiro. Then, she signed the cast of Malhação, and started playing minor roles at first. Subsequently, she earned the role of Natasha, the villain in the 2004 cast. As Natasha was the bass player of the band Vagabanda, she had the opportunity to show her talent as a singer to the series’ director, Victor Pozas. Then, she started sharing the vocals of the band with Gustavo (Guilherme Berenguer). After Marjorie’s vocals tasted success in Vagabanda with public, Pozas and his fellow Alexandre Castilho started recording demo tapes with Estiano and sending them to several record labels. Universal Music was interested, and hired Marjorie. And then, after tiring months in studio, her selftitled debut album was released. The first single, “Você Sempre Será”, which was previously performed in Malhação, hit the top of Brazilian charts, and won the Faustão’s The Best Of The Year award for Song Of The Year. The second single, “Por Mais Que Eu Tente”, is now receiving heavy airplay. * The Album | * 2005 Marjorie Estiano (Sales: 150,000+/Platinum) |Track listing |1.So Easy 2.Você Sempre Será (You’ll Always Be) #1 BRA 3.Por Mais Que Eu Tente (Don’t Matter How Much I Try) #6 BRA 4.As Horas (The Hours) 5.O Jogo (The Game) 6.Reflexo Do Amor (Reflection Of Love) 7.Versos Mudos (Mute Verses) 8.O Que Tiver Que Ser (What Is Meant To Be) 9.Partes De Você (Pieces Of You) 10.Sem Direção (No Direction) 11.Tudo Passa (Nothing Is Forever) Musicians: Vini Rosa: Guitar and Acoustic Guitar; André Vasconselos: Bass; Daniel Gordon: Drums and Percussion; Lancaster: Bass; George Fonseca: Keyboards; Christiaan Oyens: Drums and Lap Steel Guitar; André Aquino: Acoustic Guitar; Victor Pozas: Keyboards; Roberto Pollo: Keyboards; Alexandre Castilho: Guitar; Cristiano Gualda: Backing Vocal; Juliano Cortuah: Backing Vocal; Diogo Garneiro: Drums and Percussion; LS Jack; Marcelo Martins: Sax; Jeziel: Trumpet; Renata Ly: Backing Vocal; Cecilia Spyer: Backing Vocal; Milton Guedes: Harmonica; João Jaques: Acoustic Guitar |* Trivia * Marjorie Estiano has vocal abilities in the whistle register, as shown in her song “O Que Tiver Que Ser” and in a performance at the Brazilian talk show Caldeirão do Huck.| * Like Marjorie, Natasha also became a famous singer in the 2005 season of the series Malhação.
