Matthew John “Matt” Corby (born 7 November 1990, Australia) is an Australian singer songwriter.
In just 18 months, Matt Corby has transformed himself from a 16-year-old singer on Australian Idol, to an artist who has developed his own unique brand of folk/rock. He has worked with such luminaries as Sasha Skarbek (James Blunt) and McGowan Southworth (Ben Lee) and has spent time in the UK and US working on the tracks for his debut EP ‘Song For…’
‘Song For…’ is Matt’s first release since signing with Scorpio Music in Autumn 2008. The EP has been a result of two years of writing and development for Matt since finishing 2nd on Australian Idol in 2007. Choosing to shun the spotlight and instead focus on developing his craft, Matt has travelled as far afield as New York and London writing songs, playing shows and experiencing life on the road.
