Melvin Riley Jr. gained notoriety in the 1980s as the lead vocalist for the popular R&B band Ready for the World (“Oh Sheila,” “Love You Down”). He also had seminal success as a solo artist, writer and producer, turning out hits for other groups in the 90s, like 4 By Four (“Come Over,” number ten R&B, summer 1987). After 1991, Riley became a solo artist. He scored R&B chart hits with “Who’s It It?” and “What Makes A Man (Cheat On His Woman). He released “Bedtime Stories”, his secord solo album in the year 2000.
