Luksus dissolved in 2001, but Mikael went on to play in Rhonda Harris with Nikolaj Nørlund. In 2002, he made his first solo album “OS 2 + Lidt Ro 2002”. In 2004, “De Ti Skud” came out. Both albums are recorded in his bedroom studio. In 2005 he received two “Steppeulve” (award by the danish music reviewers) and awards for “best album of the year” and “composer of the year”. Later he released a mixing album called “B-sider, Udtag og Meget Triste Radiomix”, that contained many mixes of songs from “De Ti Skud”, which really didn’t bring much news to the table, except for a few songs such as: Supernat and Knæk (nummer 2). In 2006 Mikael Simpson released the album “Stille og Uroligt”, which once again was awarded several awards such as two Steppeulve (Best song, and best album). His fifth solo album “Slaar Skaar” was released on March 9, 2009. |
