After creating his MySpace page in 2007, Nefarious! upgraded to Reason 4.0 and began uploading his beats and remixes to share with the public. He met producer Jan Swift (Fremont) and rapper SLik d (Carson) and made their first official song Brown Skin Ladies. They couldn’t go wrong with Jan Swift on the beat and SLik d and Nefarious! rapping. That track would eventually spark the idea for their first full LP, Sick Of Love Songs. Primarily produced by Nefarious!, Sick Of Love songs was the first full LP he released with rappers SLik d and Siopao J for free download from their MySpace pages. They released it under the group name Less Than Three. It contains outside production from other under-underground producers such as J.Cayo and EKLiPZ. After its release, with a positive response from their fans, the trio split and decided to go separate ways. Nefarious! then got to work on his first beat tape. He named it The Crush Groovin’, after a song called ‘The Body Movin’ from J Dilla’s The Shining. It has 19 tracks, all containing smooth vibes and provides a good atmosphere for baby making. One of the beats from The Crush Groovin’ became a song for rapper BC and singer Jarell Perry (both from Los Angeles) called ‘There’s A Chance’. Nefarious! still resides in Hayward, California and plans to go to school to study sound arts. He advertises for himself on message boards such as Okayplayer.com and relies heavily on word-of-mouth for his music to spread. He is currently unsigned but is contributing to many projects, including one with SLik d and another with Bhon of Audio Ink. He continues to provide musical dope and instrumental laxatives making these new MySpace cats shit they pants, son. www.myspace.com/nefariousprod|www.nastynef.tumblr.com |
