Morita Masakazu voices Kurosaki Ichigo, the main character in Bleach. Kurosaki, an orange haired high school junior, is forced to become a substitute shinigami after unwittingly absorbing most of Rukia’s powers. His cynical nature at first makes him ill-disposed towards the duty, but with the passage of time he comes to accept and welcome it, recognizing that even if he is not able to save everyone, he can at least use his skills to protect those close to him. Noriaki Sugiyama voices Ishida Uryuu. Though on the surface he is nothing more than the solitary class genius, Uryuu is actually a Quincy, descendant of a line of priest-like hollow-hunting archers. He bears a deep grudge against all shinigami, including Ichigo, but comes to view Ichigo differently over time, eventually becoming an ally and friendly rival, and possibly more. Morita Masakazu is also an actor. Born on October 21, 1972, in Tokyo, Japan, he currently works for Aoni Production. He is also the host of the radio show, Bleach B-Station. His name is sometimes mistranslated as Seiichi Morita (ironically, one of Morita’s characters, Ichigo, has a habit of mistranslating written names). He won “Best Rookie Actor” in the Seiyū Awards for his role as Ichigo Kurosaki. Noriaki Sugiyama, born March 9, is a Japanese voice actor and television actor.|He is affectionately known as Non-tan by his fans. Non-tan was a nickname given to him by Junko Takeuchi on the radio show O-! Naruto Nippon!, which aired in Japan.| |
