Nicholas Ziemann formed Number One Fan with guitarist Matthew Reetz and drummer Jonathan Fries while in high school in Appleton, Wisconsin. After the defection of the bands original bassist, Nick’s brother Michael bought a Fender P, taught himself how to play, and was quickly added to the mix. With the lineup solidified, the band immediately began playing shows regionally, quickly making a name for themselves with their passionate, powerful live performances. Soon Number One Fan found itself getting offered opening slots on shows with bands like Lucky Boys Confusion, The All-American Rejects, and Green Day. Number One Fan’s debut album, “Compromises” was co-produced by the band members with Justin Perkins and Eric Thielen at Theilens Simple Studios in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Number One Fan’s second album was ultimately never released. However, the band changed their style and their name to The Robins in 2005, then changed their name once again to The Wildbirds in late 2006. |
