In November of 2000, David Meyers (Lead vocals, Guitar), Jesse McDermott (Drums), David Eiffert (Lead Guitar), and Artie Meadors (Bass) began playing together as Old Man Shattered. “We sing about our lives, our dreams, and our fears”, Meyers says. Performing in local venues and growing their fan base in surrounding states. OMS, “is about passion and having an outlet to express what we believe and feel” says McDermott. Old Man Shattered’s debut album, “In Light of Who You Are” was nominated in four categories at the New Mexico Music Industry Awards held annually in New Mexico. They were nominated for Best Mainstream Song, Best Religious Song, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. While they took home one award, Best Religious Song, they were nominated alongside artists who have been in the industry upwards of 20 years. Their debut album also spawned four radio releases including “Mr. Prodigal” which went #1, and “Surrender” which peaked at #3 on Massive Radio, a nationally broadcast radio station. They were one of six bands chosen from over 500 submissions to be featured as a “Showcase Artist” at Creation Fest West. An annual music festival held at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. They have shared the stage with national acts such as Crossfade, Shinedown, The Exies, Strata, and Skillet among others. In July of 2003, OMS exploded onto the national music scene with the release of their sophomore effort, “The Other Side of Fear”. The albums first single, “Sentimental Time” charted in the top 30 on rock charts as reported by Radio and Records for the months of September, October, and November. Old Man Shattered announced on their myspace that they are taking an indefinite break. |
