A ’90s freestyle band, Pajama Party were the first to have a hit song with a title entirely in Spanish. Undergoing several member changes (the original lineup consisted of Daphne Rubin-Vega, Suzi Ranta, and Jennifer McQuilken. This lineup turned into Daphne, Lynn Critelli, and Amanda Homi; and finally Daphne, Lynn, and Marialisa Constanzo), the band released two albums: 1989’s “Up All Night” and 1991’s “Can’t Live Without It.” The group split sometime during 1991-92. Rubin-Vega went on to Broadway fame as the original Mimi in “Rent”, however, Critelli and Constanzo both seemingly faded into obscurity. |
