Sometime after his paths were separated from the other members of Sunrise Avenue in 2007, guitarist Janne Kärkkäinen hooked up with the lads from fellow band, Poets of the Fall. One thing led to another and fairly soon Janne found himself working on songs and ideas that had yet to see the light of day. “Mostly they were ideas and riffs I had written along the way. The Poets guys were kind enough to lend a hand where I got stuck and inspire me to keep going. It was absolutely brilliant.” Within months Janne had compiled a nice bunch of completely new, totally rocking songs in a style of his own. The Phoenix had arisen.
At the moment Phoenix Effect is concentrating on recording and producing its debut album, from the songs written during the winter and spring of 2007-2008. The album is planned to be released sometime in 2009. Meanwhile Janne is happy to just take things one day at a time. [/myspace] |
