Born in Hiroshima and now living in Kyoto,Japan.|Rei Harakami is an electronic musician who plays and mixes with Hard Disc recorder.|He released his debut album in 1998 on the Sublime Records label.|His follow up albums,1999’s ‘O*PAQ’ and ‘Red Curb’ released in 2001 showcased his skills as an artist and producer. Rei’s growing reputation has resulted in him becoming an in demand producer and collaborator for artists such as UA, Great 3 and Coldcut.|His recent collaboration as an artist and producer on Akiko Yano’s latest album has resulted in widespread recognition in Japan. Rei manages to regularly rock the stage at some of Japan’s big festival like the “Fuji Rock Festival”, the “RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL”, “sonar sound tokyo”. On the international stage, Rei has been actively participating in several music showcases in France and Germany. In 2005, his 4th album [lust], caught on so quick in many scenes of music genre. So many musicians now resonate and talk about him.|He was officially invited to “sonar 2005” with Shiro Takatani(from performance unit, “dumb type”, as visual collaboration) in Barcelona, Spain.|His amazing talent and soundscape is no reason to admit to the national org, as produced BGM for planetarium, “MEGASTAR-II cosmos (it was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the [World’s Most Advanced Planetarium Projector])” in Japan’s technology museum “Miraikan” In 2006, his new and integral past works, album “wasuremono” was released in May, and the planetarium project CD album “Colors of the Dark” for “Miraikan” was released in July.
