Rene Moore was a successful singer-songwriter and producer in the 1980s and is more memorable musically for hits he cultivated with legendary soul singer Angela Winbush, including “I’ll Be Good”, “Save Your Love (For #1)”, “Your Smile”, and “You Don’t Have to Cry”.
Moore and Angela Winbush cultivated hits for others including soul legend Stephanie Mills and legendary rapper Kurtis Blow. He and Angela stopped working together in 1986. Moore went on to compose and produce hits for and with Michael Jackson and wrote four songs for Janet Jackson’s first album. Winbush left Rene and had a very successful solo career. Moore was nominated for two grammys for song of the year and album of the year. Moore released two solo albums, “Destination Love” in 1990 & “Street Songz” in 2004 which garnered him a street buzz in the music industry but otherwise has failed to have a successful solo career.
