The League Of Gentlemen was a late-1970s band featuring guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson. Other members included bass guitarist Sara Lee (who later joined Gang of Four), keyboardist Barry Andrews (formerly of XTC; later of Shriekback) and drummer Johnny Toobad. Toobad was replaced with a substitute drummer, Kevin Wilkinson, for the bulk of the band’s only studio album, released by EG/Polydor in 1981. In 1996, Fripp’s independent label Discipline Global Mobile released an “official bootleg” live album of the League Of Gentlemen, Thrang Thrang Gozinbulx. The album features several tracks that were never recorded in the studio by the band. Two other live albums by the band have since been released exclusively as digital downloads through DGMLive.com. |
