Previously in SZ’s music life: After stumbling upon a Roland synthesizer while attending college in 1996, I picked up where my years of marching band had left off and began producing electronic music. I produced breakbeat trance and techno for about two years with a fellow producer under the guise of Iridescent and then, inspired by J. Rans song Blue Room, I ventured into drum n bass. Going by the name Inner Seven, I had some exciting success in Drum ‘n’ Bass which produced about two albums and culminated in a track on the 1998 N*soul Records release, Eclectica 2. In 2000, I decided to move from Iowa to Rhode Island. I got involved in a great church and put producing to the side for awhile to pursue Christian ministry where I met another producer, MoL. Together we eventually reformed Iridescent and produced three experimental electronica albums which were well received by our friends. The two of us continue to produce together today and hope to be doing more shows eventually. Over the last three years, inspired by my lifelong love for travel and nature, I have ventured almost exclusively into the chillout and downtempo side of electronica in an effort to create music suited for the adventurer in all of us. I hope to create electronic soundtracks which can be the perfect background music for this tall-tale called reality. Cardamar Music: In the fall of 2005 I had the huge opportunity to release my music on the Holland based label Cardamar Music. From there my music has been played on DI.fm internet radio, released to a growing number of international listeners, and posted on many digital venues. It has been an unexpected ride, but I am enjoying it.|So far my first downtempo album, “Of Beauty & Mystery” and a 5 song EP, “Itinerary” have been released to the public. Once my new album is completed in early April I plan on working once again with Cardamar Music to bring my music to the world. Look for it this spring at on the Cardamar Music website. Future plans: I am trying to decide if I should persue more shows and touring. I don’t really know if the new album would be conducive to shows or live events. I hope to be traveling a lot in the future so maybe just taking albums along and promoting while traveling would be a good idea. And of course, I will continue to write music. Look for new albums every 8 months or so depending on what my travel life allows. S. Zeilenga can be found at http://www.szeilenga.com/ |
