A written off car is enough to deter your average law abiding citizen but not the hotel; taking the law, their destiny and their bumper into their own hands, they played that first English gig in Lancaster 2004. Since then the band has toured the UK and Ireland extensively as well as mainland Europe building up a solid fan base (not literally solid, they have squiggee parts obviously) and an arsenal of songs which would make an NRA member giggle and blush. It’s these very songs which they play live that make you remember what it’s like to be alive; it’s a series of tight hugs and kicks to the head, moments of joy and an air of hopeful melancholy ever present in the words sung, so softly, over cathartic chords and off beat drums. With album Number 1 on the way and demo tracks being mixed by Mark Aubrey (Bloc party) and Richard Flack (QOTSA), these boys clearly have an answer for their 18 wheeled Hungarian friend; “We are Sixstarhotel and we are going to take you on the most adventurous and rewarding of musical paths.” Words by Dan Brown. http://sixstarhotel.net|http://www.myspace.com/sixstarhotel |
