STARBALL - Tamar Berk started Starball in 1996 from the bedroom of her first Chicago apartment. Starball became a prominent rock band on the Chicago local scene in the mid-nineties. Over the years, Starball had several releases and had many changing members. In 2001, Tamar decided to put Starball to bed with her last release ‘Superfans’. Starball’s first release was an EP with members Jay Lamoureux (guitar) and Scot Armstrong (drums - who also happens to be the co-writer of Road Trip, Old School and Starskey and Hutch). Recorded at Gravity Studios with Doug McBride and Chad Adams. Starball’s second release in 1997 was a 3-song tape with members Jodie Zeitler (bass) and Lisa Zeimann (drums). Recorded by Steve Albini in his old studio (before Electrical Audio was built). Starball’s third release in 1998 was their first full length album entitled ‘Holstein Park’. Members on this album were Jodie Zeitler on bass and Scott Rosenquist (drums). This was recorded at Attica Studios by Chuck Uchida. In between Starball’s third release ‘Holstein Park’ and the final record ‘Superfans’ Starball released a limited edition 7” on Thick Records which included b-sides from the ‘Holstein Park” sessions. Starball’s fourth and final album ‘Superfans’ was released in 2001. Members on this release were Jodie Zeitler (bass and backing vocals), Eric Hanna (lead guitar - The Pulsars), Steven Denekas (bass - Entertainment) and Mike Zelenko (drums - Material Issue). Recorded by Ken Sluiter at Kingsize Studios.
