Sunsets and Hearts is an experimental band formed in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2009 but are now currently based out of Austin, Texas. It is the project of Mexican American Musician, Car Gonzalez, also known for his work with the now defunct indie bands Stereo Box Studio, and Zebras and Firecrackers. The band has released two album’s Despair & Desperation EP (Dec 2009) and Vive Tu Muerte EP (May 2010). The band began as a suffering need to release music at any cost, in which Gonzalez has described was at his lowest point in his life. He incorporates changeable influences including post-punk, electronic thrash, psychedelia, ambience and experimental rock into his sound. He is often characterized for his gut wrenching soulful vocals, and his stance on the Mexican/American border situation in which his spanish lyrics are often attributed to.
