With support from Don Diablo, Nolan Kane (Sick Robot) and Phil Faversham, Tasmanian Disco Stampede is the latest project from the East London studio responsible for emerging artists and scenesters, The Young Punx, Goshi Goshi (Southern Fried) and current favourite Phonat, and is quickly becoming a name to watch for 2009. Taking on the current appetite for nu-wave disco and classic track re-edits, Tasmanian Disco Stampede take it steps further with their creativity. Performing and recording original material in a traditional 70s/80s style, TDS then re-edit and manipulate the audio using modern production techniques. Maintaining all the hallmarks of a classic disco sound, TDS create a totally unique take on a scene that’s becoming increasingly popular.|nbsp; Debut TDS release “Taking Over”, due for release on boutique label Heavy Disco, is full of pump, funk, grooves, and fucked up glitchiness. The original has been stripped back to provide a dub of pure grooves and Wez Clarke also delivers a straight up disco-house mix under his Disco Lips moniker. Already drawing attention from the right quarters “Taking Over” will feature on the new Hed Kandi concept compilation, “Nu Disco”; a series aimed at returning the brand back to their credible disco roots. Tasmanian Disco Stampede has also recently remixed Phonat, taking on his latest EP title track “Set Me Free”. |
