Telefunka is an electronic band formed in 2002 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. |Made up of Giancarlo Fragoso, Aldo Fragoso and John Zohlo, their music makes use of different styles and influences like electro, rock, house, techno and jazz.Telefunka has grown to become one of the most important electro groups in Mexico and Latin America.|Telefunka released their first studio album Electrodoméstico in 2003. Electrodoméstico spawned only one single; Zenit, however three videos were made from tracks in this album, including Brillantina, Zenit and Portátil. The band was nominated by MTV for “Best Independent Artist” of 2004. Electrosinfónico, a live DVD featuring themselves, was released in 2005, the release contained live presentations of 9 of their songs.|After some years of promoting their first material, Telefunka released their second studio album Cassette in 2006. Cassette showed a very wide array of musical influences and instrumentation. Singles Robot and Electroshock (featuring the voice of Gustavo Cerati) gained considerable airplay in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Telefunka had the opportunity of playing in the closing ceremony of the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, 2007.|The band has participated in various important music festivals like Vive Latino, Brahma Beats and Creamfields. They’ve performed along with artists like Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Deep Dish and Molotov. |
